Love was never part of the plan. Longing for what I never had was on my mind.

The yearning was so intense, that I lost purpose.

Lost in pursuit, with a laser like focus, I urged on to complete that which was missing.

Lesson was learned, years later I’m afraid.

Love cannot be denied between life partners.

It’s the foundation to build upon, mere love for children does not replace.

To my children who have been a witness, I ask for forgiveness.

For I knew not what I was doing!

For I rushed to meet my desire to procreate!

For I was a fool!

But I can still redeem my naive beginnings, having learned my lessons late.

I now know what’s needed to heal, strive for it I will.

But as far as you go, my beloved children — wait.

Wait for your soulmate and for love’s intense desire before rushing in.

So mistakes won’t perpetuate.

So future generations won’t suffer.

So love will always win at the end.
