Simplicity
I wonder what life would be like if we forgo our desires?
Desires of flesh
Desires of money
Desires of power
Desires of love
I wonder what life would be like if we lived for the moment as if it was our last?
No future to aspire to
No goals to tend to
Only the here and now
This moment of solitude
Listening to the chirping of the birds
The humming of the jets flying in the sky
The sight of the palm trees dancing gently in the soft breeze
The colorful pinwheels spinning effortlessly with the wind
The soft fur of my dog as she attempts to snuggle next to me
I wonder why we struggle so hard to push away the moments?
And settle our minds on the abstract even if the moments are the only real pleasures
It is driven by evolution
This desire to attain, to achieve, to move past the moments
But having reached the desires,
The sweet moments summon us to take notice time and time again
