Why can’t we go to Mars with our sea lions in tow
Why can’t we shout out loud from the fiery brown summit
Why can’t we dance atop the dry lake beds and red dust canyons
Why can’t we breathe in the thin air of this red planet and fill our lungs with the most fulfilling breath there ever was.
Perched on Mars observing the lone Earth,
Why can’t we watch the thread of mankind playing in tandem next to each other
Why can’t we look down and see a sea of creatures brown, black, white and yellow holding hands and dancing the circle dance
Why can’t we see them topple on top of each other, sweaty and smelling of their homeland meal of the previous night
Why can’t we see them giggle silly without shame, each one a bright star sparkling alone but lighting up Earth together.
