Dreams

a couplet poem

I dream of dreams of far away land
when i was a child

catching snow flakes
laughing a hundred laughs

feeling a feather afloat
spirit alive, spirit light

embracing nothing but delight
carefree my only flight

i mute the daily noise
i remove the blindfold

i see blue streams, white summit
venerable tall redwood - holy and sacred

kind people’s greetings
their warm embrace filling

my soul is singing
beauty surrounds with healing

i wonder about all creatures
equal, none above or beneath

and when I am dust
what will be the truth worth telling?

the redwood will still stand tall
the summit will still peak

let it be that i sang my song,
laughed with glee

let it be that i sang my song,
wept with sorrow

let it be that I sang my song,
i loved you eternally
